Lum Art Magazine is a Santa Barbara-based contemporary art magazine for California’s Central Coast. Lum is independent and founded on a collaborative and open approach to arts writing. We aim to seamlessly blend the clarity of journalism with the power of art criticism. Debra Herrick, Editor-in-Chief & Publisher
Journalist and photographer Debra Herrick is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Lum Art Magazine. She holds a PhD in Latin American Literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara and has studied art and culture throughout the US, Latin America and Europe. more
Arturo Heredia Soto, Art Director
Lum co-founder Arturo Heredia Soto is a fine artist, exhibition designer and art handler. He holds a B.F.A. in photography and painting from the National School of Fine Art in Mexico and has completed M.F.A. coursework in Image Studies at the Graduate School of Art and Design in Mexico City. He is the lead exhibition designer at the Art, Design & Architecture Museum at UC Santa Barbara. He is also the exhibition designer for the Santa Barbara County Office of Arts and Culture and is the former head preparator and exhibition designer at the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara.
